Construction of a New Pipeline
The UNDP Turkey office published an invitation for bidding at the international level. Following UNDP procurement rules, a company was contracted and delivered ductile pipes on site. Furthermore, ASKI agreed to be responsible for the construction of the new pipeline between the Saray Municipality water storage tank and the ASKI main supply tank on a non-profit basis. The construction of the new pipeline was completed on a turn-key basis.

Organization of an Outreach and Awareness Campaign
Parallel to technical improvements, a training program centered on the theme of efficient water use and water resource protection was launched in the community as a second phase of the project.  The target groups were women, teachers, students and school children between the ages of nine and twelve. The campaign was carried out by the Saray Municipality and local partners between June and September 2008.
