Creation of a Cooperative of Water Users
In the beginning of 2008, it was decided by general consent to establish a water user cooperative in Kok-Ozek. This project helped to define the principles of water supply management at the local level and develop charter documents.

Training and Education Programs
In 2007 and 2008, the project team held trainings for residents and school students on water conservation and hygiene as well as on the benefits of having a cooperative. 95 percent of the local households and 476 students participated respectively. Methodological patterns (lesson plans) on water-related problems were developed for instructors of all levels, and school materials such as leaflets and bookmarks on water issues were distributed.
