International Black Sea Action Day Celebrated
October 31, International Black Sea Action Day was celebrated this year at national and regional levels in all six Black Sea coastal countries. Black Sea Day was celebrated through 154 different events with the direct participation of 41,000 people in the six Black Sea coastal countries. 20,000 brand items were produced such as posters, postcards, t-shirts, and booklets during the celebrations. Media coverage about the Black Sea Day reached an estimated audience of more than 10 million people.

Regional Event (31 October 2007)
The 11th International Black Sea Action Day was celebrated on31 October 2007 in Istanbul with the participation of 500 people and representatives of six different Black Sea countries. The main scope of the event was as follows:
• Black Sea Medal Award Ceremony
• Black Sea Honorary Award Ceremony
• Documentary Demonstration – “The Sea That Nearly Died”
• Performance of Black Sea Region’s traditional dance
• “The Black Sea Pledge”
