Every Drop Matters – Inclusive Community Based Water Management and Adaptation to Climate Change Project for Catalyzing Achievement of the MDGs is a new and more comprehensive, multi-regional initiative that will benefit from the significant lessons and experience of the Every Drop Matters Regional Project.

The overall goal of the project is to accelerate the achievement of the water- and sanitation-related MDGs, including improving communities’ resilience and adaptation to climate change in 20 countries and the Black Sea basin. The objectives of the project are threefold:

– To provide sustainable access to safe water and/or sanitation services in 22 to 30 communities covering 20 countries in South Asia, Central Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and the Black Sea basin.

– To pilot community-based integrated water resources management approaches to enhancing the resilience of the communities to the negative impacts of climate change.

– To facilitate the replication and scaling up of effective approaches to increasing access to water and sanitation services through advocacy, outreach and awareness raising.

Every Drop Matters – Inclusive Community Based Water Management and Adaptation to Climate Change Project for Catalyzing Achievement of the MDGs is implemented directly by UNDP Water Governance Programme and UNDP Bratislava Regional Centre.
