ICARDA Director General Pays a Visit to Beypazari

On 4 July 2008, the Muhtar (or chief) of Kuyumcu Tekke village received a visit from the Director General of ICARDA, Dr. Mahmoud Solh. Dr. Solh and his wife had flown in from Syria in order to visit and survey the site of the “Every Drop Matters” Beypazarı Rooftop Water Harvesting Project taking place in the village, and they were warmly received by the local project team and the Muhtar’s family. The Muhtar expressed his satisfaction with the system and the DG was briefed on progress made so far as well as on plans for expansion this year.
